DMS Prefects Election 2026/27
There was excitement in the air at Dawn Michaels School as our pupils stepped into the world of leadership, campaigns and voting during the 2026/27 Prefects Election.
Long before the big day, the school began to look a little different. Campaign banners and posters featuring the various candidates appeared around the school, sparking conversations and anticipation among the pupils. Candidates prepared and presented their manifestos, sharing the ideas and plans they hoped to bring to their respective offices.
Then came election day.
Our Early Years and Primary pupils took part in the voting process, choosing their preferred candidates for positions including Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Prefect, Library Prefect, Health Prefect, Social Prefect and other leadership roles.
With ballot papers in hand, pupils carefully made their choices, ticked their preferred candidates and cast their votes into the ballot box. For many of them, it was a wonderful opportunity to experience the excitement of making a choice and having their voices count.
And then came the moment everyone had been waiting for: the announcement of the results.
As the Head of School, Mr Ekeno Isaac, announced the successful candidates, the school came alive with loud cheers, excitement and celebration. Each announcement brought a new wave of anticipation as pupils celebrated their newly elected leaders.
The election was also a special moment to appreciate the outgoing 2025/26 prefects. Throughout their tenure, they served the school community and were recognised by their fellow pupils for their commitment and service. Their leadership journey came to a memorable close as they made way for a new set of prefects.
Following the announcement of the results, the newly elected prefects were presented to the Director, Mrs Uchenna C. Ndulue, for the next important step in their leadership journey: the prefect badge ceremony.
In a proud and memorable moment, Barrister Jegede and the Director formally badged the new prefects. With each badge came a new responsibility and an opportunity to serve the school community.
From campaign posters and manifestos to ballot papers, ballot boxes and cheering supporters, the Prefects Election was much more than a school activity. It was a lively and meaningful experience that allowed our pupils to learn about leadership, responsibility, participation and service in a way they could see, feel and experience for themselves.
We are proud of all the pupils who participated, from the candidates who stepped forward to serve to every pupil who cast a vote.
Congratulations to the 2026/27 prefects.
We look forward to seeing you lead, serve and make your mark at Dawn Michaels School.
