Numbers, calculations and quick thinking took centre stage at Dawn Michaels School as our students battled it out in the exciting MathsPedia Finals.

The competition brought together the top three contestants each from Years 1 to 6 in the Primary section, as well as the top three contestants from each class in Years 7 to 9 in the Secondary section. Each finalist had earned their place through the earlier rounds and was ready to put their mathematical knowledge to the ultimate test.

Then, the questions began.

Contestants tackled a series of challenging Mathematics questions, testing their accuracy, understanding, speed and ability to think under pressure. With every correct answer, the competition became more intense as contestants battled for the highest score in their respective classes.

At the end of the first round, the contestant who answered the most questions correctly in each class emerged as the class winner and secured a place in the next stage.

60 Seconds of Fame

Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for: the 60 Seconds of Fame.

The winners from each class stepped forward for the final challenge. With just 60 seconds on the clock, contestants had to answer as many Mathematics questions as they could.

There was no time to overthink. Every second counted.

With the clock running and the excitement building, our finalists demonstrated impressive speed, concentration and mathematical confidence as they raced through the questions.

When the final answers were counted, two contestants emerged at the top.

Ononiwu Tobenna was crowned the King of MathsPedia in the Primary section, while Akemu Rukewe emerged as the King of MathsPedia in the Secondary section.

Their success reflected not only their knowledge of Mathematics but also their ability to remain focused, think quickly and work accurately under pressure.

The MathsPedia Finals was a wonderful celebration of mathematical thinking and the joy of learning. From the classroom rounds to the thrilling final 60 seconds, our pupils and students showed that Mathematics can be challenging, exciting and rewarding all at once.

Congratulations to every contestant who took part and gave their best, and a special congratulations to our MathsPedia champions, Ononiwu Tobenna and Akemu Rukewe.

The numbers have been crunched, the answers are in, and we have our Kings of MathsPedia!
